5 Mindset Shifts to Leverage & Harness Neuroscience in As A Coach, Leader, Educator & Trainer

What you'll walk away with...

  • Why knowing neuroscience facts & knowing how to use them are 2 completely different skillsets and which one actually changes outcomes for your clients or team

  • How to talk about the brain in a way that lands with anyone (i.e. spiritual, corporate, creative, clinical , etc.) without losing credibility or losing your audience

  • Why the adult brain learns differently than a teen or young adult brain, and what that means for how you teach, coach, or train grown adults

  • The real reason people resist change isn't a lack of willpower and how understanding this shifts the way you help someone build a new habit

  • How to avoid the trap of sounding smart instead of being useful.

  • What it actually means to use neuroscience "responsibly," and why that matters more now than ever as this knowledge goes mainstream

  • How to know which brain-based strategy fits which person, in which moment, instead of pulling strategies at random and hoping one sticks_

About the founder...

Shonté Jovan Taylor, MSc, PhD(c) is a neuroscientist, human potential trainer, and success strategist and the founder of the OptiMind Institute, where she trains coaches, leaders, and educators to lead and live with the brain in mind.

Known to her community as "Our Neuro-Professor," she holds a Bachelor's in Neuroscience from UCLA and a Master's in Biology/Neurobiology California State University, with her graduate research at Harbor/UCLA focused on traumatic brain injury and concussion.

She went on to complete additional PhD-level graduate research and training in traumatic brain injury, PTSD and dementia and led initiatives like the M.I.N.D. study serving Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans with PTSD and TBI at the VA before deciding her real calling was teaching everyday people how to use this knowledge.

Over the past 12-plus years, she's built the OptiMind NeuroCoach & NeuroLeader Certification into a previously ICF-approved and accredited program, trained coaches and leaders across health, education, government, and corporate sectors. She now speaks and trains globally, carrying out OptiMind's mission to empower a billion minds. OptiMind seeks to bridge rigorous brain science with plain, human (& humane) language, because a fact only helps someone if it actually reaches them.

What sets her teaching apart isn't just the science. It's the lens she brings to it: her experience as a Black woman in STEM, a pastor's grandchild raised around ancient texts and languages, a former biology teacher and college professor, and a lifelong, wide-ranging reader and learner. That combination lets her connect neuroscience to nearly anything, (e.g. leadership, relationships, creativity, spirituality, history) in a way that's grounded in real research and shaped by real, lived experience.
